My Trip o France

So I decided to keep a journal of my trip a lot of the times after a trip I don't remember the details too well everything gets blurred. Part of the reason is that we live in a very busy world and sometimes we need to be reminded of our past pleasures.

The date is July 17. Today was a very exhausting day because that's when the plane landed and we haven't had any sleep the whole night on the plane so we arrived at the airport took a taxi to Paris and the first thing we noticed is incredible architecture stone buildings everywhere everything looked from the 1700s

Finally we were at our hotel but the room wasn't ready yet so we left our baggage and walked down the street to the café and I finally had a chance to practice my lousy French. As I ordered drinks at the café the waiter decided to ignore my French and speak perfect English with me. That was a disappointment

The next day we woke up and it was raining. Well this is very common in France so we went to visit the Louvre indoors. But before hand we want to stop by a bakery for some croissants and coffee. Now we were ready to head off to the Louvre we know it's a giant museum is to take us all day. Brought my sneakers just in case

My Sister This I'm a Jeweler - Not!

I'm now doing a study about pearl jewelry, mostly because my sister is getting married in August and she has assigned me to buy her all the pearl gifts that will be passed around during the wedding. Here's what I found out.My Sister This I'm a Jeweler - Not!

In the past several years the level of quality of freshwater pearls has drastically improved. It used to be that freshwater pearls were known for their cheaper quality and irregular shapes, such as the common potato shaped pearl.

At present the quality of pearls is extremely good and some of the  best pearls can be regarded gem level of quality.Without a doubt it is very thrilling to see the different colors, shades and shapes coming out of pearl farms. A lot of ladies who consider acquiring or receiving a pearl necklace as a present will take into account the contour of the pearls, the luster, quality or nacre, and the cost. China is generating vast quantities of freshwater pearls, and there is a lot of different different versions to pick from.

There are other sources of freshwater pearls to be found in Japan and other countries. Chinese freshwater pearls are produced in huge numbers and dominate the world freshwater pearl market at this moment.
It may seem complicated when you are selecting a freshwater pearl necklace simply because there are so many different shapes, sizes and level of quality types. I advise following some simple rules. For pricing nothing beats Chinese freshwater pearls. They are very easily found all over the place, online jewelry stores, eBay, retail jewelry stores and everywhere else.

Buyer beware pictures posted on the Internet are usually not what you will get when you order. Vendors usually place the most wonderful picture of that type of freshwater necklace that they have, you'll commonly get a lower level of quality than what's posted. So you will have to use your common sense about which quality online merchant you will pick. Most of these companies include a 60 to 90 day money back assurance.
Shape is yet another very essential factor in selecting a pearl. Freshwater pearls  are not usually round, rather they are potato shaped. So if you think that you are buying a perfectly round freshwater pearl look again you may see that it's somewhat off around and that's okay because no pearl is truly completely round. The rounder the shape the more valuable it is.
The luster is what makes a pearl attractive, it needs to shine and radiate to the world. On the other hand Luster is a tricky phenomenon, it's known that Chinese freshwater pearls can seem very bright and shiny in some light situations and not at all in other varieties of light. Chinese freshwater pearls are not high luster pearls. You can find them with high luster, but they are considerably more costly.

Imperfections. Most pearls have imperfections on their surface area. Imperfections could be scratches. Little bumps or dips. This is highly common and could possibly be thought to be normal. The least quantity of scratches the far better and more valuable pearl. Gem level of quality pearls can be found in an almost flawless state. Good quality pearls on the other hand will have imperfections that are very tricky to see and for that reason will look like they are flawless. The level of imperfections on the surface of the pearl that you are inclined to accept is based mostly upon you and the cost you want to pay. I've often bought freshwater pearl necklaces that did have blemishes that were visible upon close examination but from 3 feet away looked definitely perfect.

The last feature I want to explain or get directly into is color. Pearl colors vary considerably. Typical freshwater Pearl colors will be white-colored, cream, beige, lilac, rose, peach and lavender. Quite a few other color variations are possible. A lot of freshwater pearls have been highly processed, this means that they have been bleached and colored. This is actually very common. Lighter colored shades are the least likely to be processed. Highly processed coloration such as chocolate pearls have been intensely processed.

Freshwater Pearls - What colors do they come in?

The majority of people would likely expect cultured pearls to be white. It's true a large number of of the pearls out there now are white with diverse hue variants. But too much white can be monotonous. Luckily during the farming process all sorts of colors are produced. Generally the type of pearl you buy will come in many several shades and the colors will be natural and not artificially colored. Artificially colored pearls are usually linked with the cheaper quality.

The reason we buy pearls is due to the fact they look beautiful and have intriguing overtones. For example if a freshwater pearl necklace  was flat and dull  it would certainly not be fascinating to look at  all. Hence this is why pearls are so well-liked, because they have a sophisticated array of colors overtones and Hues. One particular thing to look for in the color the pearl is overtone color. Generally if you look carefully in a pearl, for example let's take the Akoya pearl. You should be able to see a moderate pink, blue, green or  silver color. This is what's called an overtone. And the more overtones you see the better the level of quality. Oftentimes these overtones can present themselves in a understated rainbow color of pink, blue, green, silver. This overtone rainbow of colors is referenced to as iridescence.

When you buy top level of quality pearls they tend to be very colorful. For instance in a light pink pearl you'll easily be able to see azure and pink overtones. And as you move the pearls they appear to transform color due to iridescence. You do need to see the pearls against a bright background under good direct light to determine the numerous lighting qualities of the pearl. This is especially important when viewing Tahitian Pearl Necklaces

Excellent pearls will have the numerous different types of overtone colors. When determining  what color pearls to buy you will require to try on the bracelet or necklace and see how they look on you. Light pink pearls will tend to be the greatest priced. White pearls will be a little bit less expensive than radiant pink to pearls. Then you have light cream coloration, then cream color, then dark cream mix with yellow. Quite often you may be perplexed because jewelry dealers will not have a consistent method for naming the color of their pearls, it's really up to the individual.

Pearls with blue and pink overtones are thought to be top quality. And can often be referred to as Hanadama quality. Keep in mind we're only talking about Akoya pearls. Other types of pearls such as Tahitian and south sea pearls  will have their own range of colors, hues and iridescence. As of yet there is no general consistent method of measuring pearl colors and hues within pearl jewelry dealers.

To analyze a pearl for color put it against a white background that is not reflective. Also check out the pearl in diverse shades of light such as inside light, outside light and fluorescent light. If you possess a pearl necklace, bring it with you and generally use that as a contrast to the pearl necklace you're looking at. Check out the color of pearls in the most neutral white lights you can commonly this would be at the middle of the day. This kind of light ads the very least quantity of artificial color. Keep this in thought when you go shopping for pearls as the lighting can be off and not right for observing pearls.
